Kinda missed my point. Whenever a new model comes out people complain because it’s different than what’s available now. And you’re fooling yourself if you think people didn’t lose their mind when the 379 replaced the 359, not so much the outside, it was losing the round dash.
Look at the trends. Everything is going towards a wide based cab. The narrow cab options from Paccar won’t be around forever.

I remember when the issue of Heavy Duty Trucking showed up in the mail with a silver T600 on it. My dad said KW wasted their money because nobody would buy one. Fast forward about a year and Brakebush is running T600’s with Aero 1 bunks and my dad was thinking he needed a T600. Just takes time to get used to a new model.
drvrtech77, Cottonmouth85, larry2903 and 3 others Thank this. -
Back in 2002 I was at Dallas Peterbilt looking to trade my 379 in on a new one. The sales guy told me they were going to be replacing the 379 with the 389. It took, what, 5 years? But it did happen.Oxbow Thanks this. -

Sometimes bold steps turn out to be best sellers. 1988 the FLD120 came out, sfa and sba options. Freightliner didn’t offer the Classic for a few years and look at how many FLD’s they sold over the years. I realize this new KW isn’t really a fleet truck, but my point is people complain, and then they buy it. -

On the other hand, I have seen both 379 exhd and W900L with c12 engines. That would not have happened when they changed from the a to the b.Oxbow Thanks this. -
