KW vs Pete for an oil patch?

    20/46 axles..... 18 front springs and 46 primaxx on rear. 236" wheelbase and it rides great . And it will handle the weight too....

    I had to replace the 2 torque rods that go from the frame to the top of the diff housing. That's all in 6.5 years.....

    Truck does 107k every day.....on 6 axles.


    T-800 is a nice HH ride.... If your doing a day cab get the extended one....or the studio sleeper route!

    Thanks Cat sdp!

    I will consider the Primaax or Neway for that matter. Need more inputs on those though. Last time I mentioned both at the dealers and got a negative reaction from parts and service. The T800 I'm going for is 14.6/46 with 18 and an ISX on 226-236 wheelbase (depending on pump setup) with 72" sleeper.

    go go look at the winch trucks running around up there. 90 percent of them are running Neway air ride, that's what I ran on my winch trucks and it would definitely take a beating moving rigs. We never had any traction issues either. These were all t800's bought and rigged in Edmonton. They are all still running although under a different outfit.

    I did noticed some of the heavier equipped T800s or C500s all running Neway or Chalmers setups. Not sure if I wanna go that severe with mine. Still looking at more hwy driving comfort then pure off road that those trucks seeing. Guess I'll be making some phone calls tomorrow. We'll see... I got a few friends (owners/ops) running around here in the patch with 2012 T800s, similar specs to what I'm looking at, nothing out of ordinary so far in terms of break downs. They all running AG460 with dual valves though and no complains.

    KW wants you to buy a Paccar suspension instead of a Neway product. Get the Neway with a 60" spread. Unless it's a Tridem, go with 54 inch as Tridem at 60 inch is illegal on a tractor.

    Made some call this morning. 3 out 4 KW dealers opted for Neway. However they mentioned more for a tridem or winch trucks. Scheduled a test drive of a T800 with Neway ADZ 46.000, 54" spread tandem. It's 220lb heavier then AG460 and $1300 more expensive and it's available with discs. I don't know how a tall 4 bag Neway can be more stable then a fast reacting, short bag'd AG. Beats me... Guess I'll find out soon. :)

    I know for awhile kw would not spec a ag460 for a dump trailer app, because of stability . But they have changed and now offer it....



    My primaxx.... Less expensive then neway...

    Airtrac or primax, I haven't run a new Pete or KW, but AG anything suspension sucks anywhere but dry pavement. Airtrac is proven tough long lasting really tractionable suspension. primaxx will wheel chatter if the shocks are hot or week. And Petes have exponentially better cross members.
    Too bad KW won't put airtrac on a truck, kind of shows where their head is stuck.
