Kwik Trip (also QT, KS, Kwik Star, and maybe a few others depending on the state) is a gas station - truck stop operation in the upper midwest (HQ is in LaCrosse Wi). They have an in - store deli sort of thing that is pretty good (hot dogs, chicken, pizza, soups, salad, ect). They also sell butter, milk, bread, small steaks, hamburger, ect at pretty low prices (they get them from the farmers direct).

I am going to miss them when we move to Florida in a couple of weeks. We get a lot of stuff there. Cheaper than Wal Mart even.

QT is an entirely separate company based in OK.
I think Kwik Trip has them beat on quality and cleanliness.

they don't really pay though. assistant store managers advertised at 55k a year

this pay structure for drivers isn't great, you're going to run your ### off to get close to 100k
5-8 drops a day is a ton of work, good luck with that when you're waiting in lines to load

this is probably close to an average days numbers

Drivers Pay – Petroleum (updated 11.26.23)
    Mileage (Per Mile) $0.50 x 300 = 150
    Load Pay (Per Unit) $17.65 x 5 = 88.25
    Drop Pay (Per Unit) $20.45 x 5 = 102.25
    Weekend Premium (1 unit per shift) $25.00 x 1
PM Premium (1 unit per shift) $20.00

    340.5 a day x 5 = 1702.5 x 52 = 88,530
    25 x 52 = 1300 = 89,830
with the 10k sign on bonus 99,830

at 65 hours a week thats 26 an hour, not very good

Throw in the 14% for profit share and there's the average of 109 that she told me. I have the slack to make that. Combined with the learning curve, getting carded at all loading facilities etcetera, just didn't seem to give me much motivation to change at this point.
Good gig fo somebody starting out for sure. Great culture.
BTW you may have 3 drops at one stop.

Are you saying 3 products dropped at one stop?

I've dropped all 4 a few times back when I hauled fuel, but that was pretty rare. Most of my loads were some combination of regular, super, and diesel, not much mid-grade.

The reason I ask, is I was trying to make sense of their pay structure. Is “per unit” per load or per product or???

A Shell station I used to deliver to in Oregon always too 87E10, 92E10, and Clear B5. Sometimes they took Clear 92 too, which was a pain cause everything else was loaded at the Shell rack in Portland but the only rack with Clear 92 was in Vancouver, WA.

Each product on trailer is considered a drop.
