    ok, i just paid off my truck last week...Looking for a company to contract on with, the company that i'm currently with try's to control me as if i'm a company driver, i constantly stay into fights with ''ica'' (hint hint) i make good money with them, but i didn't pay off my truck to have some-one make my decisions i want a little more freedom, any suggestions?

    lol, i like that saying, but it true. is it expensive to get own authority? i may just have to stay a few months to get up enough cash to buy a trl and pay for authority, Thank you

    Try mercer or landstar. I dont work for either currently, but considering mercer long term. They let you choose freight but they still do your permits, plates, drug test ifta etc. Kinda like your own auth but still paying the to take care of stuff for you.

    I'd suggest mercer if all you want is a bit more freedom.

    I think LS has better option for van freght since mercer is mainly flatbed.
