ok i understand...but even in error...its a good idea and i think we should go with it....coz i have a hard time finding prices for independants anyways....i want that to plan for fueling purposes.....im not to sure this idea of low quality fuel is valid tho.....i think they all get it from the same places some discount it alot to bring in business others keep it high to profit off of that while also giving discounts to trucking firms.....i mean if word ever got out that a wholeseller was selling low quality fuel?....omg!...they would be out of business in a heartbeat..jmho.....

Yes, most of them are all getting it from the same place. Pull out of the terminal in COLS, turn left then a right, and there you go, a large tank farm and you will see them all in there. There is also a large one north on I-71, Ashland. Today when I left out of the Peelot, it was still $3.85 and when hit I-440, the 66 nd the Valero, both at $3.65, and got back on I-40, Peelot, Petro and Loves, all the same, $3.85. I did screw up yesterday. forget all of the miles that I was travelling in IL today, topped off in AR instead of must one tank then top another tank in IL.

Bisqueak, I felt the same way the other day when I realized the ifta was so high in IL, and was sorry I didn't top off there but waited instead.

well my mpg from Sayer, OK to Amarillo, TX went from 8.6 down to 8.4 and just got me to really question the quality of peelots fuel. The reason for my doubt came when the last time I fueled in Rock Springs, WY at the J, going E, my engine sounded pathetic and it did last night on the peelot fuel I got.

I had a performance sports car once, and the engine would tell me very quickly if I gave it junky, trashy fuel, but ran great on higher quality fuel.

Well tomorrow I t-call in phx and just plan to chill out till xmas morn, then take off again.

See you all tomorrow and goodnight.

and p.s., my mpg is down to an 8. with only as near as I can figure maybe 5k in the box. I am impressed I am doing so great, but still wished I could have hit a higher number. oh well

    Alrighty then,

My fuel for the trip ended up being at an 8 mpg, not too bad.

    My 13 wk avg $ = $1.16 /gal
    Driving, 6.9
    Trip 6.7
    DCI 26%

What really brought these numbers down was my Laredo - SLC, UT trip, I only averaged somewhere around a 5.5 mpg, oh well, better luck next time.

Why I leave California and stay east of the Mississippi until I go home ... I'm $148 for the entire year on my IFTA; 12/11 through 11/12

    fr8monkey Thanks this.

At the Pilot / Flying J's its always the cash price. I only fueled once at a Petro and I was in a hurry but I swear the pump charged me the credit price. I went into the store to get a rec. but left because of too many people just standing in line. Usually at the indys its the cash price I am finding out.

Well in my past with being a co drvr and living E. of the Mississippi river, that basically was all I ran, everything E of the Mis r. Now that I have been living out west, this is really where I like to stay. But yeah, its a huge learning experience paying my own fuel, vs. being a co. driver and not caring one tiny little bit about mpg, hills, wind, wt. or anything else.

oh well, live and learn I suppose.
