Good morning, this is my first thread! I'm looking for info on Holset compressor pump R&R on a 1993 L10 Cummins... does the injector pump need to be timed prior to removal from backside of the compressor? and if so any info would be much appreciated.

Try the search block on the top right. Pump does not matter but suggested to time the compressor.
It will work anywhere it is installed however.spsauerland and DMIUSA Thank this. -
Pulling it in the morning, just got everything disconnected and ready to yank. was unable o find anything in the search box regarding compressor timing...

You might try google as well. I do not have a book here and have to drive tomorrow.
Working under a field mechanic years ago we put on a compressor. The engine was probably a small cam. He said this and I have found some of this in other Cummins manuals.
It will run anywhere you put it. For the least amount of front gear train noise time it on TDC with #1 & 6.
We were in the field, no books, no phone. We turned the engine to the TDC 1 and 6 mark on the accessory drive. Then he took the new compressor and turned it while holding his thumb on the outlet. Then he worked it back and forth while adding some spit. That is TDC! Turned it back a bit allowing for the angle of the gears and put it in.
Hope that helped you some but I am going to back out of posting a lot!DMIUSA Thanks this. -
Snapped some pics from my L10 book...
DMIUSA, pushbroom and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -
