L10 Cummins ISSUE- one day great oil pressure and next day the alarm goes off. Every day is a gamble

    Curious since it's an L10 is it an E? I have had many oil pressure sensors from those series engines be bad one day and read fine the next.

    Oil pressure switch, oil sending unit. Those are like $20 each. Bad wiring to either one.

    As was posted, mechanical problems on these big engines don't come and go. They come and stay and get worse.

    Yeah it smokes more when it happens and runs rough. That’s where I was thinking it was the regulator maybe. I’m going to confirm everything this week on pressure gauge for myself rather than just rely on mechanic though
    It’s l10-300

    Did you ever find the cause of the low oil pressure? I’ve got the same problem.
