Curious since it's an L10 is it an E? I have had many oil pressure sensors from those series engines be bad one day and read fine the next.

Oil pressure switch, oil sending unit. Those are like $20 each. Bad wiring to either one.

Yeah it smokes more when it happens and runs rough. That’s where I was thinking it was the regulator maybe. I’m going to confirm everything this week on pressure gauge for myself rather than just rely on mechanic though
