It's after the 1st of Jan, 2014......I still see a load of Pre-EPA rigs running in and out of Cali....
If CARB can't enforce it's own laws....The FMCSA certainly can't either...Last edited by a moderator: Feb 8, 2014

Hey you are right but it's not the Feds but companies.

That is for running an elog program on a pc. Using an EOBR it only need be on the device and/or fax-able to DOT from the company providing the service.

Since the thread has been somewhat hijacked, I'll toss in my $0.02.
I spent about 18 months on paper logs right after I got my CDL. I was running about 2000 miles / week and bringing home around $1000 after taxes. That's staying out on the road for 6-12 weeks at a time. Since December, I've been working for a company that has EOBR (Qualcomm). I've been running around 1500 miles or less / week, home almost every night, and bringing home $1000 after taxes.
I don't think that paper vs. EOBR is the issue with how much a driver can earn and how often they get home. The issue is the COMPANY they work for. If drivers would walk away from the companies that work them 70+ hours per week and pay them peanuts (or expect them to run illegal), it would be better for everyone. And EOBR / E-logs would be a non-issue. The bottom feeders would be forced to step up their game, or fold.
The ball's in your court, drivers. -
Very good point....but not all of us work for a company and really not sure what you haul but sometimes I sit for five plus hours loading or unloading when the load needs to drop the next morning, sure I could say well they made me wait so they can wait on there load the problem with that is you loose a load by weeks end or even more.
My biggest issue is most places I deliver to don't have over night parking so I must stay at a truck stop ten miles down the road but I can't drive to the receiver at 7am because I didn't pull into the truck stop until 10pm.
what about all the time you've spent looking for a parking place and just can't find one? I've spent over a hour before and over five truck stops before I had to just push on the next town....DOT is not going to like us stacked down the ramps or on the feeder roads but that's just what they'll get, and before you go say time management that don't work everyday we all set goals but that 4wheeler texting that hit the gard rail and shut down the hwy for hours ant my falt and I don't make bad weather.Joetro, Working Class Patriot and Elroythekid Thank this. -
It's a quandary, no doubt! You have a couple of years to figure out how you're going to deal with it. Overcome and adapt!

Can't this wait until after 2022?....That's when I can retire....
