2014. I have had 5. It was the worst of them. My Volvo 780 is light years better.

It's not that. Landstar does it this way. A brokerage posts a load on DAT, Landstar takes it under their own name or under one of the phony trucking companies name, then reposts it on DAT 15 seconds later and a few hundred dollars cheaper.

It's a lease or company? If you are going to keeing it learn to work on it yourself. Sometimes we need to make the best of what we have until the opportunity to make better comes along.

Have a few rules for land star. It will sound bad.

    1. If they dont speak fluently, charge more.

    2. If they dont have a good description charge more.

    3. Blind load, charge more.

    4. No favors.

    5. Suspect double broker, charge more.

I don't even waste my time looking at the load board without the direct shipper filter, and occasionally I've caught a couple agents trying to tell me it's their customer then put you on hold for 10 mins. Make a list and check it twice, lol. Make relationships, only book direct freight and let the board trashers go out of business.

This an older thread, but i know of some folks who are much worse than Landstar. All based out of SoCal and now 1 new one in TX. IF you book anything with them, 100% its being double brokered. Anyone interested in more info, please let me know, i will be happy to share all i have.

Mercer...Interesting. I also thought they were a decent outfit. Ill have to make a note.

I am referring to a group of individuals who until recently were posting all over DAT - TriStar Transit and All State Association. They arent posting anymore because DAT kicked them off of the platform but they have a new broker MC# based out of TX - Massive 3pl. They call other brokers postings on the load boards and pose as a legitimate carrier to tender freight and then double broker it. I have caught them red handed before and have ample documentation to back it up. Man if you see a posting from Massive 3pl or Got Freight please do you your diligence and look for a similar posting from one of the real brokers and call that person instead.
