Maybe so. But in cases when that's happened to me I just called customer service and they paid me. Landstar has had my back. Happened twice.

If i load doesnt pay detention you dont have to sit and wait on load.......
-
Not true at all....... Ive never sat and waited on a load that i didnt get paid detention on....or that i didnt decide that I was gonna take the load anyway...... Ive never had it happen on flatbed in 4-5 years..... and in 4-5 years in van it happened to me once in my first few months of leasing here and I never let it happen again.......
-
Why not?
If you own the truck, Landstar can't "make" you take diddly squat.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
Because you booked the load and LS on the hook for the load. They can't just call the shipper and back out. So that means you can' just back out of the load. I tried they don't want to even hear that. If you're willing to quit you can do anything you want.Last edited: Jun 27, 2016

How did you force them to pay if they did not want to. They always would tell me. If the customer pays they would pay, be but if customer won't pay they can do anything
-
Find that hard to believe... My trk and if customer can't honor what was agreed to..they can find someone else...point blank..
-
No, I said that if they didnt pay detention I would make the call as far as sitting and waiting to get loaded or moving on to another load.........
But, there was never any argument as to if they didnt pay and I didnt want to wait that an agent would call LS or whatever...... -
The only thing they agree to do is load the truck when you take the load their not time limit. If you doing trade show load they tell you in advance how the detention pay work for them.
Just like a load that cancelled, LS would only pay the $250 if they could get customer to pay. It was not automatically paid.Skate-Board Thanks this. -
Because you book your own freight. So if you don't have a load lined up when empty, it is not on Landstar it is on the driver.drvrtech77 Thanks this.
