There are a few small fleets, leased on and some are running ex-fleet trucks, but no company trucks. They all got sold to Schnieder, back in the late 90s.

All of our drivers are owner/operators. You can either purchase your own van or pull a company owned van, as well as steps, flats, etc. We only have 63 reefers in the fleet and they are dedicated to an ice cream account. The only "Company Driving" you'll do here is if you get hired as a driver for a fleet owner, but you work for him, not Landstar.

I was thinking about applying to Landstar tonight online. Besides being totally honest is there anything you Landstar veterans recommend?

Be aware, they will require you to run an EOBR.

I have been using EOBR (Qualcomm) for the last 3 years. There is only about one day a month that I am shaking my fist at it.

I have a LLC and was wondering can I keep my company name on my doors when I lease on with Landstar?

Sure, just make sure to put "Operated BY" above Landstar to comply with FMCSA regs. My LLC is on my truck, along with LS's identification.
BTW, if you lease on, through your LLC, you will not get a 1099 at the end of the year. 1099s are not required to be issued to companies, only sole props.

    Dewey120 Thanks this.

During the truck inspection would a slightly bent cab extender need to be repaired? Also I hit my first deer a month ago in Missouri so there is a good size dent in my bumper, do I need to get that repaired?

As long as they meet DOT criteria, they are good.
