Does Landstar require you to keep a maintenance fund/reserve account with them or is that all on you?

Also do they have direct deposit or are they on comdata or something similar?

They do require an escrow account, I think it is up to $1000 now. They do pay interest, on it, according to the regs, but it is tied to the average of your advances monthly.
You are paid on Comdata and you can setup direct deposit from your Comdata card.

$1,000 isn't bad. Do you pay for most of your repairs from your own business account (LLC)?

Either business checking or business cash.

Already on the tree with the other two. I'd like to end up with a tree full of trucks, but that is up to Landstar's future business plan.

They don't send you guys any swag? Heck, I get swag from my favorite agents too! I miss the swag I'd get in the car audio industry. I didn't have to buy a t shirt or jacket for years!

We do not have a maintenance fund. We own our truck, so it's all on us. Our last repair bill was $8,072. We are on Comdata and it looks like we're charged for pay. I could be wrong.

We are not charged for pay. It costs the normal $1.75 to load your settlement onto your Comdata card. However, you can request that they send a paper check to your house instead, which eliminates the loading charge. They don't like to do that, but they will. There are a few old timers that do that. Comdata charges $1.00 to do a direct deposit, however, paper Comchecks are free.
