Can anyone tell me is there very many agents that have reefer freight at landstar? I am trying to decide on getting a reefer trailer or not. I like to run the midwest and south.

There's a handful of agents with reefer freight and a handful of reefers here compared to dry van. 99% of box loads are dry van though. In fact the only reefers I've ever seen leased to Landstar were A&E teams.

Not a whole lot of them. Just did a check on the load board, as of 7:13 am on a Thursday morning and it shows 727 reefer loads, system wide. If that helps any.

My husband and I started with Ranger in '97, pulling a reefer, for a contractor. We did ok.

We've got reefer freight, but right now our primary lane is TN into ON. There are some other lanes we might be able to get but the Logistics Company that handles all of the transportation for this group has some pretty low rates compared to others. There are always the Melon and Produce loads that pay extremely well but that's seasonal. If you did get a reefer, I'd get a 53' space saver.

There's less than 50 out of slightly less than 8000 trucks pulling reefer.
