Question, does the Pre Pass Landstar gives you have the plus feature? Meaning does it cover I-Pass and E-Z Pass too?

It should say on it if its the ezpass/ipass feture. If not, go with Ipass out of IL!

No, it is only for scales. You need to get your own toll pass(es), if you want any. I have the Illinois I-Pass, which is good anywhere EZ-Pass is accepted. I got mine at the Belevidere Service Plaza, on I-90, just south of Roockford. Took maybe 20 minutes to get it.

I also run the I-Pass thru IL and it is the easiest one out there. You can get one at just about any toll plaza in IL during the week and you can control it all online thru IL Tollway website.

You can just enter TEMP as your plate number when you sign up, but LS might get a toll violation sent to them as you have no plate and only the trailer tag for their camera to pick-up.

I was issued my plate with all my paperwork and tags when I leased on, I guess they must have changed it????

Is it normal for an agent to call a BCO about a load? Some agent I haven't hauled for left me a voicemail about picking up a load near Chicago and taking it to Florida. How does the agent know I am near the Chicago area? Out of courtesy should I call back that agent and decline the load? I know better than to go to Florida.

They just look on the computer to see where the trucks are. Happens all the time. Sometimes I call back, sometimes I don't. As to Florida, it all depends on the rate and where in Florida. I'll go to Cut Bank, Montana, in January, if the rate is high enough.

This is where the experience part comes in and when time allows sit and play with the load board.....search around using different criteria, by doing this you will learn freight patterns and more importantly look ahead to see whats available......yes we all know Florida is tough but you might be suprised to see some gems popping up here and there.......like anything else it's a right place, right time thing.....so again, time, experience and good notekeeping will be a major benefit to you. If you are getting a good buck to go in just stay with Orlando and North and figure on running back up into GA if nothing pops up for you....I wouldn't want to do it regular but it's a nice change to get down there a few times a year.
