yea thats the gross
But at 65% of 3.00 per milie thats 1.95 thats for tractor only, if you have your own trailer its i think 73 or74% not sure what the new contracts are. -
72% with your own trailer.

How is the rate calcuated at Landstar? If the load board shows a load paying say $2500 gross, does that include the fuel surcharge or is the surcharge added to that gross figure?
Example: $2500 x .65% = $1625 plus surcharge??? -
1000 miles x .50 = 500.00.This is yours 100%...So the ''new'' linehaul is 2000.00..
2000.00 x 65% = 1300...Now add the 500.00 back in....1,800.00 is the REAL NUMBER...1.80 to you
2000.00 X 72% = 1440...Now add the 500.00 back in ....1940.00 is real number.. 1.94 to you...Travelinman Thanks this. -
Does Landstar make you run a certain amount and if you have more than one type of trailer can you switch back and forth between freight?

In the recent Landstar email about the safety call they stated:
Even if your medical certificate and/or CDL are NOT up for renewal, you are REQUIRED to SELF CERTIFY as NON-EXCEPTED INTERSTATE with your DMV office by JANUARY 30, 2014. (If you do not do this, FMCSA has required the state to change the status of CDL to "no longer medically certified")
When I renewed my medical card last September (2012) I had to go in person to the DMV and turn in my long form and get a receipt showing my updated med card status. Do I need to go back to the DMV (CA) and mention this self certify as non-excepted interstate?landstar8891 Thanks this.
