Has anyone paid their 2290 using that Landstar sponsored website? I heard the fee was cheap.

I am doing pretty good with a flat right now but I prefer a stepdeck. I am 51 going on a 101 so having a lower trailer to climb up on makes a big difference. I sold my step a year ago when flatbed freight took a crap. Now I wish I had it back. Flatbed freight is running hot and there is a 6 month wait if you want a Landstar company owned step. Flats can be had but probably an old piece of crap like mine. I really need to buy a new step but am also on the list for a landstar step to rent from them. If you pull a step or flat that is landstar owned go ahead and rent it from them to get the 8% extra revenue. It's worth it trust me because I have rented and just pulled their trailer and not got the 8% and u definitely come out better renting. Of course buying a trailer is an option too. As far as agents go just check the board for the high dollar freight and haul it. If the agent seems agreeable put him/her in your haul/no haul list.

I don't know about Landstar sponsored, but I've used expresstrucktax.com for the last couple years. It's like $10 or so. Between tolls and gas here in Orlando, I couldn't do it cheaper at the IRS office, plus I went there a couple weeks ago and at 1pm they were no longer giving out numbers. Screw that.russellkanning, Dewey120 and dogcatcher Thank this.

Ive used express truck tax for years, and the fee and service is good. Commdata sent me an email about it a few weeks ago as wel but I think Comdata charges 25.00

I found the Landstar website which uses Express Truck Tax to file our 2290. It quotes $8.91 to use their service.
