IIRC When I was at Prime back in 05, we were paid on comdata. You call a number, enter the bank info and the amount to transfer and its done. I think it cost like 2.50 or something for each transfer also. They told me today you will get 2 cards. 1 for you advances which you also use for fuel since usually that is what the advance is for and then another that your weekly settlement is loaded onto.

They have direct deposit but it's kinda of goofy in my opinion because still have to make the phone call to have it deposited into your account every week.mastllc Thanks this. -

I found Gallagher, the brand LS uses to be high for physical damage. I've had PD through OOIDA for a decade plus, so I do get some longevity discounts. Shop around, it can't hurt. I hope to never find out how OOIDAs service is. When I needed windshields due to rocks, they were very courteous and sent someone out to pop new ones in. That is always free for any vehicle based in FL due to state law, so that may be different where you live. -
Thank you all

One more question, do you have to get the ccp insurance through Landstar?

I use Landstar's in house insurance Gallagher insurance and they seem ok to me. I used to have outside insurance but Gallagher has advantages, for instance they just debit your settlement if you don't have money that week and then just take out the money the next week or whenever you generate revenue. Keeps from having your insurance get cancelled for nonpayment. You can set up your comdata fuel card and your pay card to be able to direct deposit to your account. Just takes a phone call to comdata and you decide how much you want to deposit. I have it set up so I can use either comdata card for fueling. But it is best to keep it simple and try and just use your fuel card. If you pay cash for fuel you don't get the Landstar discount so if you run low on your fuel card but have money on your pay card then you can use it and get your discount. Most guys probably don't have it set up that way but I do. As far as how often to check your status for hire.....stay on top of them. At least once a week and maybe every few days. They are extremely anal about everything except processing new applicants in a timely manner.

Bank one always takes two days to show up for my direct deposit. Good to know that Bank of America is faster. There is no reason that the transaction can't be immediate but that is the banksters for ya.

I have to concur with CB, the insurance is good and with trucks leased on is easier to just let the money come out of the settlements. I try and reduce anything to worry about and less to deal with monthly. as far as dd my money hits the bank within 24 hrs
