I think he is where he needs to be now. With a co. that tells him to load at point A and take it to point B. Many O/O don't know how to do any different. If you can work L/S system and work with the agents you can do just fine.

You know? trustinfuture has quite an accent for someone who keeps ragging on immigrants.

Just to make the record straight:
Never made that money at LAND STAR ########.
This is how much I am making at current lease carrier.
Talking about emigrants,screw them all.
Now go ahead and get your self screw at L/S piece of crap.
How many languages do you people speak?I know........english,because your brained its not to big,to hold much data.
Talking about education........I'm positive, most of you(base on your comments) are HS quitters.
And I hope some other people will come clear and talk about their past experience at L/S,and the record will be straight. But why other people will bother, they all ready left, and they don't care about future of other people, just about them self. -

I was leased to landstar ligon for 7 yrs.I made good money there.I only quit when ligon was disolved into ranger.I didnt like the way ligon was disolved. You have to work at keeping yourself in good paying freight and you can go broke if you just take whats posted. You have to find an agent with freight you want and work at keeping them and their customers happy.Expect to have slow months till you make the right connection.good luck

It doesn't seem too hard to get leased on there, I don't think you even have to know English.
but this is my real point, it's too easy to go buy a truck and think your an O/O. Or in the case of the company I'm with, a L/O. I see a lot of people fail due to their lack of skills and are always too quick to find someone else to blame.
Buying a crab boat, doesn't make youa crab fisher, and buying a truck doesn't make you a truck driver. There are many sides to running a business and with each of them there is a way to fail. There is a reason that swift and the others have so many company drivers, it's because these guys are at their limit od skills at this time. If your company is failing, you better have a meeting with the CEO and see how to fix it.
That's my 2 cents. Thanks for all the info everyone. -
I just closed my operation as an independent running broker freight after losing trucks and trailers to the finance company,,,put my one owned truck on with Landstar,,,,getting better money than CH Robinson,,,,,

I make plenty and my grmma sks so eat money ur point..Sure plnty off over drivers make great monry and ..have crappy grammer.
Go be a librarian and bite me. -
They have no freight right now, like everyone else. And what little freight they do have doesn't pay much right now. And if your lucky to find a decent load, its hard to find a decent back haul so there goes the profit from the decent load. The agents are cutting the Line haul right now and LS lets them because they have already lost too many agents.
Pull enough loads to survive and get through this economy if you need to but Landstar isnt going to make you rich this year like it did last year.
Look, I made beaucoup money with LS last year and even more the year before that but if the agents are allowed to cut the Line haul and Fuel Surcharge and Assessorial fees after you get a load sheet faxed to your truck and LS says you have to pull the load after you canceled it. Well my flatbed will sit until rates come up or they can ask for their lease back. (Which by the way they haven't nor will they.)
And making fun of someones grammar just shows how shallow and weak one is. The guy prolly speaks multiple languages. Something we Americans take for granted.
The original language here in the states was Indian, and then lots of Spanish. Then came English. -
What language is "Indian"?
