So all you need is an Authority, insurance and a driver..... Landstar will supply the trailer if its not a refer? Is there an age limit on the truck?

Thanks HEAVY DUDE. I'm partnered with a driver a very professional hard working individual such as many of you individuals. I supply all the $, and he does all the giving and we gap the money. I have my own authority and he drives under it.
That was great info but I also would like to know if they provided their own trailers are would the carrier pulling the freight needed their own wagon?
Thanks guys and GOD bless you all and stay safe!!!!!! -

Ok been reading thru 40 pages what i would like to know is
why would you lease on to a company you have to find your own loads i just dont under stand if you have to do that why dont you just run under your own authority and keep 100% of your money insted of 72% your own your own anyway right?
Im not talking bad about them and have never heard anything bad about them just nobody will answer that? -
When one is leased to a company such as Landstar you do not have too 1)worry about being paid
2)knock on customer or prospective customer doors, and
3)all the back office paperwork is taken care of for you.
On the other hand Grasshopper, you make a good point. The question is, is one wise enough in the ways of business to contract with good shippers direct that will pay promptly, and also know how to handle all the paperwork to stay DOT compliant?
If one is truely this wise Grasshopper, then yes, he may do as you suggest.Civilservant Thanks this. -
Most loadboards have a credit score of the broker soo if you worry about geting your money get a "FACTORING" company most charge 5% of the invoice
so my point is even if you factor all your invoices it will only cost you 5% not 28% its worth it to me to do all the paper work myself lets say you gross $100,000 a year with landstar you bring home $72,000 if you factor your stuff you made $95,000 i dont know about you but for $23,000 i can do it myself
Like i said why would you look for your own loads' book your own loads' and pay someone over $30,000 a year when anyone can get on the SAME loadboard and get the same loads when you can quikpay for 3.5% of the load and have your $$$ in 72 hours
