WoW!!! I know I'm late on this, but i have read all 85 pages of your guys comments. Though I have never pulled for LS(even though i was close to going) I just wanna add my O/O 1/2cent. I'm a O/O with Schneider on there CHOICE board(which is like LS load board) and it does come down to KNOWING how to run a business. I get 65% of the load plus 100% FSC. Now much as i know this pumpkin patch are some down right liars and thieves. I KNOW there system, been here for 4+yrs now. I know where freight bangs at and I know where to stay away from. I'm sure LS is no different cause all these company's a full of BS. But if you find the loop holes in there system and get in there and have a seat(stay below radar as i call it) you will see a return.

I think the #1 issues are, some people don't take the time out to understand what it takes to run a truck let alone a business. To me trucking is like medicine..there will always be a side effect. Know where to go, how to run and be smart about at.

Like on gentleman said on here, where he ran from houston to chicago to kentucky<--or something like that--> I've do the same thing and i'm home every weekend and i stay in vegas. Not to mention that's pilling dry van.

ENJOY YOUR TURKEY DAY!!!!

Thanks for the input - well said. Now, tell us next how you get your share of
the loads that make the house payments and all that goes with it. And tell us
if your outfit takes the cream off the top like LS does. Do you keep to the western 13? You've compared fuel expenses out west to fuel expenses cross
country? How about sharing the other .5 percent of info?

Have you found an outfit that gives it all to you? One that makes no profit just so you can?

Brickman Thanks this.

Of course Schneider get there cut...what company don't!! When I'm on the west coast, I get a fair share of loads. Schneider made a bone head move years ago that only let certain parts of the company see the loads for example: O/O can't see team loads and dedicated loads(unless their staging freight). So because of that there isn't alot of O/O that run the west coast. The only other good thing about it, they have alot of these big companies under contract(P & G, KC, GP, Costco..etc) So they have certain loads that come out on a regular. So I pretty much know when to roll on them and when not to.

My question with LS has always been their loads coming into Vegas. Schneider loads out of Vegas sux. But I've talked with a broker with LS and he says he has plenty of freight that comes out of there. BUT...there is no freight coming back. So that's the only thing that kept me from LS.

IMO...Van freight has never been a big hit unless you have your own and been running with a broker for a long time. I've done well over here..but I really leaning towards have my own Auth., and I'm thinking first step is get in good with some brokers in my area.

I use quickpay, only one card. your money is loaded there and i use it for fuel even when hauling other broker freight. you cant beat the ta cost plus 0.045.

Your right, it used to be called "net working" and "having relationships with agents". I think they still call it that. :biggrin_25514:

" if your outfit takes the cream off the top like LS does " :biggrin_2555: you need to try FFB , they give 100% of total billing on the freight + FSC and usually tack on another 10 - 15% for fast delivery.

Are you implying that you could take more than $800 + taxes per week from your L/S settlements "after" setting aside your business operating expenses?

What am I doing wrong?

I would think $800 a week is kinda low. That isn't much money.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.. I'm used to taking home over $2,500 a week solo, after fuel.
