Part of the reason the recruiter was vague is that it varies load to load.
Some times the FSC is included in the rate, some times it aint.
If it is, some agents will break it out for you, some will not.
If they manage to convince you that "its all in the rate" then every body
including the mother ship in JAX and the agent get a cut of the FSC.

I guess the only real way to get answers is to start calling agents.
TTT has to average no less than $1.40 per mile, including any deadhead. Otherwise I am pissing in the wind even bothering with it. -
Thats about where I was back in 06 pulling a flat.
I was lazy and didn't take a lot of tarp loads if I could avoid it. I also would dead head to get a good load versus a cheap POS that took up a lot of time. -
I get $.90 now plus .39 FSC on ALL miles. Thats 1.29 with less expenses, and less effort.
Not to mention the fact that Starqual is having a fit about a 21 yo non cdl I had in California back in 1990 without a number associated with it. They say DAC has to remove it or provide a number. California doesn't even have record of it. -
The only way to see that is to actually pick the load from the screen and it will show you all the details about that particular load. The FSC will be listed in the comments section below the other load information. This is the thing though..... some of those loads may have the FSC lumped in with the total that you saw but you can ALWAYS get them to pull the FSC out of the bottom line so that you get it. There's no such thing as no FSC on a load (are maybe I shouldn't say it like that). Some of the agents will list the fsc in the bottom line to make it look more attractive but that's a bs tactic. Every load I have EVER pulled for LS had a fsc.. some listed with it in the amount that you saw but most had (+FSC) in the comment section with the dollar amount of the fsc. I've NEVER had a problem with a fsc at all. Some will even add a little more to it to entice you to pull the load but it won't be a heap because corporate knows the current rates for fsc's.
This is how it works.... Lets say you picked a load that payed $3000.00 and a $350.00 FSC. If you book the load then you get 30% of the load up front and the FSC loaded onto your fuel card (you get two cards... one for fuel and one for your settlement). You would get $900.00 + $350.00 ($1250.00) loaded onto that fuel card before you even pick the load up. That covers the fuel for that load, which shouldn't cost $1250.00. That's what you hear the bco talking about when they say that they end up with money left on both cards because you never use all of the advance and fuel money all the time. Once your settlement comes they automatically deduct theire cut from what you already received and load that onto your 'settlement' card on payday. Those cards work at truckstops, and ATM's, etc. and you can link it to your bank account and call the 800 number and request that 'x' amount of dollars be direct deposited to your bank checking/savings account. This is all done electronically and can be done 24hrs a day 7 days a week.
But... back to your question. You have to click on the individual load to find out any other specail information about the load including the fsc. In my opinion the fsc 'BETTER NOT' be in the total that was listed unless the load was paying alot because that brings down the per mile rate if it's included! which is another tactic. BUT!!!!! and I say BUT!!!!, when you call 'ASK' the agent if fsc is extra if it's not listed. Don't assume... Tell you what.... next time your at a truckstop, ask a bco if he'll show you the system and then show you a few individual loads, so you can see how they're broken down. The main information on a load is in the comment section which is not shown on the page that yo got. Info like unloading, demurge, lumper, etc......
Hope this answers you question....desertdog71, scottied67 and pepper687 Thank this. -
EXACTLY!!!!....... MOTHERSHIP.... LMBO and that it is.... and all those WOMEN! lawd...lawd...lawd -
Calling JAX "the mothership" was not meant as a term of endearment.
And yes, there are a couple of easy on the eyes ladies that work there.
Does LS still have their BCO appreciation gatherings?
We went to two events while I was there. One in Vegas and got free Nascar tix.
One in JAX. -
I was looking at loads and thinking that there better be a FSC ON TOP of that amount. I kept thinking to myself, that 8500 drivers can't be pulling loads that cheap, or they'd all see bankruptcy real fast.
It sucks I can't look at the details BEFORE making a change, because really that is the most important information I need access to. Big difference between 1.34 per mile and 1.34 plus FSC per mile.
I have been trying to find a BCO that was sitting around somewhere but I really haven't had any luck yet. I see them all moving which is a good sign in my book.
Would you feel comfortable that I could do better than .90 plus FSC at Landstar?
Thanks.scottied67 Thanks this. -

Recruiting told me that the average was $1.25/mi PLUS FSC of about .39/mi. She sent me copies of the load sheets for my area and it looks pretty good!scottied67 Thanks this. -

Ok, Im looking at the load sheet now. The average load is about $1.10/mi but there are a lot of loads paying around $1.25 or more. I cant see the FSC on the copies she sent me. You have to be logged in to the system and click on "Details", but she said most loads have FSC.scottied67 Thanks this.
