I know you didn't ask me but as an o/o who pulled for one of the megas for a couple of years, I don't think that it would. It's about choosing the right lanes, the right loads, and running a business. I think the misconception about e-logs is that it will stop you from making money. I disagree. E-logs give you a chance to rest. I was on mileage pay at my last company and I still made some pretty good money running e-logs.

If you come to LS and find you are running out of hours to make money you're doing it wrong. It's about the revenue, not the miles. I hardly ever run more than 2500 miles in any given week and I never run short on hours.

    I agree @sawmill

Quoted for emphasis. This is one of the best pieces of advice that I've read in this thread.

I laugh every time I hear that phrase. Sounds good but it's not going to happen in reality.

What, run more miles and run out of hours? Because I like goofing off at home.

It's not that there isn't hard work, it's how the time is allocated. I devote plenty of time to the behind the scenes stuff and doing my own maintenance. I agree that it sounds ridiculous to say "work smarter not harder"...it makes it sound like there is no hard work to be done.

@The Boss Lady the best thing you can do to help yourself is to not look at it as a way to have a job as a driver....treat it like you are owning and running a business...because that's what it is. Make every decision as a business owner.

The idea you have to run 3000 to 3600 miles a week is a joke. The per mile and fleece purchase company's teach this because it is the only way you can survive and make them money.
Your plan should be based on 2000 to 2500 a week. 80 to 90 k a year is a muck better goal. Trying to do 150k a year is a great way to get burned out. I prefer to have a life.
Remember .90 a mile is .90 a mile no matter who is writing the check.
I think LS has over 450 active million mile drivers, somehow they figured out how to make it work as anyone with some smarts and ability to communicate can make it work but don't expect it to be handed to you.
