Jf landstar has been paying whopping $1150 to the truckers especially both side appointment and in snow in the holidays to the northeast then how are they surviving ??? DAT analysis on this load say bottom line to be at $1550 and if you really look at the appointments on both sides you loose two day. If there is snow then it is risky to make the appt. They want $100 for missing delivery on the rate sheet usually. Beech Isld SC to Greencastle PA 577 some miles plus DH miles and appts $1100 Wow.

How are you still in business? Are we just waiting for the major repair to happen? It seems like you only ever post about how low freight rates are. If you do not like the rate then do not haul it. You need to know how and when to ask for an appropriate amount for a lane and do not be afraid to go into the $3 and higher per mile range. Believe it or not, some lanes do pay this. Quit looking at that average lane what it pays, or loads to truck ratio - garbage information. Do you even have any idea where that information comes from?

Or you could just continue wasting your time coming on here and posting rates on loads so we all know who not to call.

I'm more curious about this snow he's whined about on two threads. Weather report for both locations show nothing more than flurries.

If the industry reports, the economists, the Gov and many other are depending on what the US's largest reporting board has to say before making next years plans and budgets, then who else would you get your info from. DAT charges as high as $600/month for this kind of actual data (DAT and Internet Truck stop are the two largest reporting load boars, well known in the industry) and you are telling the people that this is garbage????

Yes all that information is garbage. You should be learning what ranges freight lanes are paying and making your own averages and know what to expect. Now, please explain to me, how it is a good idea to go empty into the north east. I hope you don't have to actually draw a wage from your business that a wife or kids are relying on. Your business decisions are all wrong. You need to think outside the box a little more. Perhaps even get some regular business, what a concept.

Maybe you should take a look at your numbers and figure out what you are grossing per mile, then compare it to what companies that are paying by the mile to "owner operators". You might come out further ahead and not have to deal with the terrorist groups you call brokers.

Greencastle PA is so close to the Mason Dixon it doesn't much count as northeast. :) And it barely snowed there anyway.
