Randmcnally dot com. might have spelled it wrong. The website is the better than the gps in my truck for trip planning because it gives more options. An old fashioned soon to be obsolete map is great, I like the no glare Rand Mcnally one over the laminated. It looks like normal paper but its coated, and I can use highlighters on it then wipe them off days weeks months later when I make new marks on it. Few years they wont even make these paper maps anymore

You dont even need a laptop anymore. A good smartphone will do the
same thing now.

 

Yes, and no. Google maps on my iPhone is quite a bit less feature rich than the website. Also, only Co-Pilot offers truck routing on a mobile phone.

Google maps on the laptop can give you multi-stop routes, waypoints, and you can set the specific routing, whereas on my iPhone it picks the route IT likes, and I can't adjust it, without going to a headache process of setting up bookmarks for specific spots on the way.

No matter what, GPS, phone, Google, make sure to check that routing against a Truck-atlas. GPS units have come a long way, but they still can't do the same thing our brains can do in 30 seconds by looking at a proper map with proper truck routes.
