Somewhat easy finding loads to vegas....but getting loads out ,you may have to dead head a bit or take cheap freight

Pay for a load board, search whats out there. Also, strike up a conversation, be respectful, and beg every hot shot you see for good broker contacts. Think that you can stop thru the house on a load, get loads in, deadhead for loads out, and as a hot shot you will be able to run a partial load and still make some money. Vegas is actually a "fair" market.

There is a whole lot you should read on here about becoming an owner operator. Specifically getting your operating authority and insurance in line. Hopefully you already have your CDL.

Hmmm I see, not hars to wrap my head around. Would I still be able to make a profit if I only transport a load one way? And say Im based in Vegas but try and pick up loads elsewhere, would it be hard to land bids because customers do not want to wait?

Sometimes you have to take a load that just pays for fuel and maintenance expenses so you can get to a load that pays well.... unless you find a dedicated run....the dollar amount on a load will always vary

I already know that I have to get a cdl, usdot and mc# Im going to do everything legally so it wont come back and bite me. Basically I have somewhat of a game plan and I know I have what it takes to get started but do not know if I will have enough to keep movin. I appreciate your input it really motivates hearing that Vegas might not be as bad of a market as I thought.

Theres loads everywhere ,sometimes you gotta dig harder and knock on doors and ask hey do you need any freight moved?

Really check on insurance thats gonna be your biggest hit....
