I witnessed a family member speaking about this man. He explained that this man lived so quietly, maybe gambled in video poker a little bit, hated florida dust from farms, moved back to vegas in a retirement community of all places... (And you wonder where you stash 10 guns.....) this was one shooter who kept his mouth shut. He has been working on this plan for a long time. Weeks perhaps.

One thing stood out to me, this person, the shooter must have gambled very heavily, as if he was going to die soon and did not care that he spent tens of thousands and lost it all all of a sudden. You would think a deviatation from normal pattern of gambling would draw attention from the pit boss or someone.... I am a little bit of a gambler myself and control it with a very fixed dollar amount that has nothing to do with rent, food etc. or truck fuel etc. When it's gone out of one pocket, whatever chips won gets cashed into the other pocket minus a tip to the table girl and Im done for the day. I actually still have one of the dollar tokens from the large slot machine in the downtown 76 truckstop slot machine where I pulled 2 bucks and won 30 bucks during fueling one night near the luxor casino across the street. Tropacana road or something... I forget. But that coin is a keepsake.

otherwise I did my gaming in indian lands at Sky City off 105 in NM. That was before they built up and got really big quite fast.

We should have good gun laws and we do. It's the people who become evil for one reason or another that do these horrible things which hurt us as a Nation and will continue to do so as long there are people in positions of power who think now is the time to strike out laws writing to abolish some of our freedoms even more. The more you try to stamp out evil the more secret they become prior to committing future acts. And we will go through this again and again and again. As we have done before.

Fox News: The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the shooter had converted to Islam, but provided no evidence. Nevada authorities say they believe Stephen Paddock acted alone, and no motive was yet known.

LAS VEGAS – The man who killed at least 50 people and injured more than 400 at a Las Vegas concert was a retiree with no criminal history in the Nevada county where he lived, police said Monday.
The brother of Stephen Paddock, 64, said he's "completely dumbfounded" by the shooting at a country music concert Sunday night, the deadliest in modern U.S. history. Eric Paddock told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper that he can't understand what happened.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the shooter had converted to Islam, but provided no evidence. Nevada authorities say they believe Stephen Paddock acted alone, and no motive was yet known.
Paddock owned a single-family home in Sun City Mesquite, a retirement community along the Nevada-Arizona border, Mesquite Police Chief Troy Tanner said.
He lived there with Marilou Danley, 62. Police say they don't believe she was involved.
Heavily armed police searched the home early Monday, hours after Paddock killed himself in a room at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino where police believe he opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 people.
Paddock bought the one-story, three-bedroom home about 80 miles north of Las Vegas in 2015 for about $370,000, according to property records that list him as a single man.
Authorities in Texas say he lived in a Dallas suburb from 2009 to 2012. Public records indicate Paddock may have lived in Mesquite, Texas, for longer, but police Lt. Brian Parrish said his department's review shows the approximately three-year period.
A preliminary review of police records don't indicate that authorities had any contact with him but police are still investigating, Parrish said.

The police babbled about a known criminal history from the shooter... now someone says no history at all... what gives?

Maybe I take a short break see how all this shakes out. I caught the Trump speech on Cspan a few minutes ago and it was a masterpeice of speaking that the Nation needs right now. Well done. Takes me back to the Challenger loss too.

I say this. It's always something later on after a event that the real story becomes apparent. I try not to get too involved in the very early parts of a problem. Im more worried about bigger things like Kim Jung Un screwing up his demo in the pacific and accidently say nuking guam and wiping out 200,000 people on American ground.

I also try not to take or wear my heart on the sleeve too much, you can only take so many cuts before you have to say enough is enough. In steel hauling I prefer to think those cuts provided iron against being tired and weak at the end of day... a thousand of them at a time....

I wonder if Nevada's Court allows online searching by name?

Here in Arkansas our Court Records by name etc is online for all to see. It is relatively very easy to spend a few moments with a full name and come up with any records, if any are present for past convictions etc.

His record may be sealed till the investigation is completed. But otherwise I imagine you can look up anyone's record but it'll cost.
