If you lived near Dallas, TX, Preferred more home time to making tons of money, Owned a 55 lb dog with no one to care for her in your absense without begging a family
member and probably still being told no, had no money whatsoever and were getting desperate, already had a CDL and valid passport but no miles under your belt,
did not want to drive northeast lanes and very little mountains and wanted ONLY solo company, no teams, no lease.. Which of these would you pick?

I'm ok with spending a year or so with a starter company before getting a cherry gig, however some of these starter companies are so bad people rarely make it past a couple months. My father drove for swift and quit after three months, and this is a man that worked in harsh factory conditions his entire life with out any complaints.
12 months is a long time. I just dont want to get out there with 5 grand being held over my head and find out I chose the wrong company when I had a better choice.

*USA trucking* People seem to have a decent opinion of them, people often suggest starting off here in this forum. I'm scheduled to start with them in a week.

*US Xpress* Allows pets, supposedly high pay.

*Wel Companies* Allows pets, per diem.

*Southern Freight* No northeast lanes, OTR regional.

    Any opinions advice welcome.

Before you say Roehl is the best I know that, and have applied but I dont think they are hiring out of Texas.

If you're scheduled with USA Truck, go for it.
Yesterday someone posted that Roehl is building terminal in Texas. Call and ask.
After 3 mos. experience with USA Truck, you could apply with Melton Truck Lines; terminal in Dallas. Top of the line equipment with APU's.
The pet issue will narrow your choices. Other than what I mentioned, just go with any refrigerated company you have on your list above, that meets your criteria.

    Rains83 Thanks this.

I read where USX drivers are required to team for 6 months. Don't know if it's true or not. Probably couldn't take the pet. Better check into that if interested in that company.
