    Hey guys ,

I was late for delivery yersterday to Food chain company (Southhaven, MS) for 1 hour. Appointment was at 3 am, I overslept at parking lot , and got there at 4 am. They turned me around and said I have to reschedule. Broker told me this morning that next available appointment is next Friday , so I have to wait a week to unload 4 pallets , and of course they:
    1. Refuse to pay any sort of layover
    2. Refuse to find warehouse and unload there
    3. Refuse to bring the load back to the shipper (which is only 350 away).

Please give me an advice - what are my right and what can I do ?

I called the reciever , tried to buy them lunch , nothing works .
Thanks , today is my second day here .

That's why I try not to book food loads. This is messed up. I don't have any suggestions besides to keep trying. Maybe speak with a different shift supervisor

Go to top of food chain to get unloaded. Totally unacceptable but that't the kind of clowns you deal with when hauling food.

Unfortunately you overslept and were late. That falls on you and at the point the broker doesn't have to do anything. Nor should they. Late is late.

I’d open the doors. Slam it in reverse. Get up to speed then hit the brakes. You’ll lose more waiting a week then dumping that load. I have no experience. Just my opinion.

Won't get it to slide the 53 feet off the trailer and the truck doesn't stop on a dime. Takes a full 3 football fields to get a tuck to stop.

Why don’t you run a load with the rest of the room in the trailer? A couple short moves, then come back.

First off. What is the freight?

Second try to talk to someone in receiving if they can fit you in.

Other options would be find a storage unit and return in a week.

    Who is the broker?

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

    Dump it somewhere.

Give 'em a call an hour after you're supposed to deliver and say you will be a bit late. They'll reschedule another week out. Give 'em a call an hour late the next time also and reschedule. Rinse and repeat.
