Is that what you would do? Just give up and shut down for five days and chalk it up to " lessons learned'?
You have a strange way of doing business.
That five days will eat a hole in his p&l statement that won't ever fill back up.

eat the cost of the 4 pallets before u sit 5 days out of pure principle, and I would make a show of eating the 4 pallets, as in chunking them out the door at the guard shack when they turn you away again.. it isn’t like you have any intentions of dealing with these yahoos again anyway.. worth it.. lol.

All the people suggesting him getting rid of the product, filing on insurance, etc.. Are you even in business? Do you even understand the consequences of that? Or are you just company drivers with big, truck stop counter, mouthes?

You screw up and act like the receiver should bring you in and unload you anyway? That penalizes all the other drivers that got their butt out of bed on time.

Yah, nobody should allow themselves to sit there fir 5 days. I would have dropped the trailer and leave.

The last shipper who tried threatening me by calling the police, was Poland springs up in Maine. They called Local police, and I called DOT Maine. Do you know who came? Dot with a convoy and portable scales. I told dot that i was the one who called, they gave me a nod, and I winked at the guard gate who wouldn’t let me leave in the beginning. Those office people probably gained ptsd on the following day.

    Keep on trucking driver.

I’m not in the business at all but I’m pretty sure whatever he’s hauling isn’t worth as much as 5 day’s revenue that a truck can generate.

Oh I understand the consequences, it would be worth it the cost of 4 pallets and not getting paid for the load, unless it’s expensive and more than 5 days of revenue, but I doubt it lol.. that’s partly what’s wrong with this industry, to many sheeple scared to death and let shippers, receivers, brokers, gooberment... etc run all over them.. once all options are exhausted someone needs to stick that load up their rear, being punished and being worked in or paying a late fee is one thing but expecting cold storage for 5 days is absurd.... sure do wish there were more backbones in this industry, trucking for sure wouldn’t be where it’s at now..
