Ok, I understand your point, i am just shocked at the level of regulations and general mistrust there is for this profession.

Do you think that shippers will pay their bill before they actually get the bill in the mail? I would think not! Why should you expect to get YOUR paycheck if you don't have your paperwork completed and sent in by the deadline?
-
Hey man - I'm on your side.
My point was, try and hold back the paycheck of a walmart greeter, or a Mcdonalds worker. That is not an option for an employer to get what they want. There are laws about paychecks - you can fire someone, but you can't hold their paycheck. This is just one area where truckers are not treated the same as anyone else. Try telling your kid's principal that he is going to have a camera in his office pointed at him all day - do you think that would fly? I know it's all legal and if you don't like it take a hike - I'm just commenting that it seems truckers have been run roughshod over on a bunch of these rules. -
what deadline?
i've only had one load that had to be received within 30 days. -
your logs and your receipts are the owners verification that you did your job
you think IBM pays back an expense account without receipts?
turn in all your paperwork get paid pretty simple
OH Boss I went to the streakin beacon
but the dog I am not suppose to have in the truck
ate the receipt
but you owe me $96 -
I understand they need to be turned in. I myself am quite efficient with my paperwork.
I am only commenting that going after the truckers paycheck seems like a popular pastime. Dot, company, lawmakers, courts etc I am not complaining; merely showing my support of my initial impressions of the industry. -
Think of it as filling out a timecard and not turning it in. Nobody would pay you without it.

If that walmart greeter forgot to punch timeclock would he receive his full paycheck .when i did construction i had to timekeep my hours per jobsite and daily i did it because i WANTED to get paid on time .there are rules everywhere you work even a mcdonald workers has rules .FLATBED Thanks this.

Ok - so I'm off with the log book example.
But come on,... DOT never looks until they find something? Drivers love the cameras pointed at them? Trucking companies all treat their drivers with respect and have their best interests at heart? This wouldn't be tolerated in any other industry. You all may be numb to it, but it is very clear to me coming from an unrelated career in business.
I'm thankful to this forum so I know about it in advance. -
Health inspectors at food facility's.
Cashiers with cameras on them.
Get into any regulated industry and it isn't any different.
