Can anyone give me any information on Land Air Express of New England? Specifically line haul positions? Thanks!

I'm looking for some feedback myself. I was hired and have a road test come friday. A friend from trucking school swears that they do well by him. Any help would be appreciated. IN addition, I have an offer from A&R Transport (Bulk Pneumatic trailers). Wondering how they fare as well.

As an ex-trucker, I use to view the motor carriers (now CSA) scores to get a picture of how other drivers/company are:

Land Air Express, Inc. DOT # - 251923

    Unsafe Driving - 25.3%
    Hours-of-Service complaince - 20.1%
    Driver Fitness - 54.7%
Controlled Substances and Alcohol - 0%
    Vehicle Maintenance - 56.4%

Now with these numbers I looked harder to see why they have what they have:

Unsafe driving - looking to see if there was alot of speeding violations (an indication that the motor carrier is forcing or setting up unrealistic appointment times/poor dispatching).
I don't see anything here to alarm me here.

Hours-of-Service - again same as unsafe driving but you need to take what you see with a grain of salt too.
I don't see anything here to alarm me here....what I see is driver knowledge issues instead or poor company training/education if anything.

Driver Fitness - looking to see if they are hiring or allowing drivers to operate with out CDL or classes or unfit (sick/fatigued)
I don't see anything here to alarm me here.

Vehicle Maintenance - looking to see this number to be VERY low as your life depends on your vehicle upkeep. Higher the number...you need to see why!
Issues with lights mostly...so no issues in my mind.

    THEN.....

look at the licensing and Insurance information part of FMCSA.

Looking to see if they have proper insurance levels and if they haul Hazardous materials...
Rule: non-hazmat carrier need a min. of $750,000 insurance on-file. Hazardous material carriers need a min of $1 Million.

Also looking to see if they have insurance carrier jump...meaning change insurance carriers alot (a MAJOR warning of financial health of the motor carrier).
    No issues seen here.

So with this information, if I was looking at working here..with this information I would give it a go ahead and then call them and talk to the company. Hope this helps you start your interview process of the company.
