Btw you’ll most likely need to upgrade air tanks and or compressor on a normal truck to meet the minimum air requirements to pull lcv

Yea, I’ve had my fare share of run ins with them over the years lol; none of them good.

Doesn’t seem like it’s worth going LCV O/O at most places, except Penner and *gag* Bison of all things. Prob just stick with my current outfit, until they go LCV, or finally get our deck division going full time.

Luckily when I bought my Volvo 760, I managed to get an LCV ready one! It’s fun being able to go from 80 psi to 125 in 4 seconds flat lol.

What are the weight limits on LCV's? I hear conflicting info. Some say it's no more than 80,000 lbs gross, other say it's by the axle. I can't see it being worth it with all the megas already established and taking advantage of all the immigrant labour. And from what I've seen, they take "wiggle wagons" to the extreme.

Depending on configuration and jurisdiction, maximum to 63,500 kg (Alberta B-Train... I think SK and ON are the same and MB is 1,000 kg less).

We’re plated for 118,000 lb. But only run 105,500 lb because that’s the limit for us in North Dakota.

Yea, most of the scabby companies, are immigrant team LCV now. (TransX, Arnold Bros, Rig, Laidlaw, Loblaws, Kindersley etc etc) Bison is not hiring new LCV O/Os, unlesss you run 5 years US OTR for them or are an LCV Team and run 25% of the time US OTR.

Penner and Rosedale Group look pretty good!

J&R hall, Versa Cold and Trans Frt won’t use O/Os for pikes and you need to do US OTR for them first.

So I think I’m gonna wait for my current company to get into pikes, or just ask for a dedicated/scheduled US route, if i want to be home more.

Zeviander, Canucklehead and uncleal13 Thank this.
