Could it be from the first throw out bearing?
That thing failed bigRideandrepair and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
One thing everyone should glean out of this is get the diagnostic in writing. When they said it was the input shaft. That's something that will strengthen your case. Cause with the dollar amounts involved, I'm pretty sure you cross into the "Fraud" statutes. They won't even want that hassle.
So now the real saga begins-
Attorney? Small claims? Just eat it?
I'm glad you got it fixed. What are you gonna do about the 15W-40 under coating you've applied to your truck now? There's a place on highway 99 in the communist state that will put it up on this giant lift and clean it like brand new.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
What's the name of this place?Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Unknown. It's just south of the Flying J a bit in Ripon, CA. Burns Brothers is a big shop ( quality ) shop there next to Love's, I'm sure if you phone them they can tell you, cause it's not far from there.Rideandrepair and Opendeckin Thank this.

So it was the rear main .... um ... ok
Glad you got it fixed. -
The oil coating. Is it really bad? It's a giant anti corrosion package. It's on the face of anything pointing front.Rideandrepair and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
-
I would get it washed off for a few reasons, one is if you have other leaks, it will be masked with the mess under the truck.Rideandrepair and 77fib77 Thank this.
-
It will also collect dirt but your right, anti rust protection. You make the call.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
