    Hi guys,
I changed my clutch in freighliner dealership in Charlotte,NC
It tools 10 days and 3968 $ , I received my truck two days ago and took a load for 500 mile but right now I saw oil leaking under my truck wich looks it is my engine oil, Beacause my engine oil gauge shows I lost a little bit oil while I have never had oil leaking before
I know if I go back to dealership I will loose time to get fix,
What do you guys recommend me?
    Thank you

4000 $ why are some of these clutch jobs so expensive to you guys? IS it emissions trucks that need a bunch of crap taken off and moved out of the way?
I too do my own clutch in one day. cost me 1000 for clutch. Rear main seal is cheap also. sheesh

What all was replaced? Did they change the rear main seal. If so, and that’s the problem. Be happy it’s been done at the Dealer. Depending on how bad it’s leaking. You should be able to run it till you can schedule it at any Dealer. Shouldn’t cost you anything. 1 yr labor and parts warranty at Dealer. First step is to communicate with Dealer in NC. there’s a problem. They should want to fix it immediately, since they’ll be charged for the work if done at a different dealer. Then decide Which Dealer to get it fixed. They’re probably all backed up now. Might be best to go to original if possible. It all depends on whether it’s leaking as a result of the work done. Need to know where it’s coming from first. If it’s dripping from the hole in bottom of bell housing, most likely the rear main seal. Look at the invoice. All work done parts installed should be written clearly.

Next time you stop at a rest stop or wherever, let your truck idle and watch the bellhousing.

If you see drip-drip-drip or worse if you see a constant stream running they improperly installed your rear main seal.

They should fix that at zero cost to you and they will have to remove the transmission again and remove the clutch and flywheel and replace the seal again.

You need to get it fixed. The oil will get on the plates and you won't have a clutch.

Thank you so much guys for helping me,
I put it to the Lancaster PA Freighliner dealership,
In here we saw that the clutch Fluid tank is completely empty so they told me I have to change slave cylinder and slave cylinder fluid lines,
Also we figured out that in Charlotte dealership they changed my rear main seal,

    Interesting.

You said your engine was leaking engine oil. Does the slave cylinder use engine oil? I would think it takes some kind of hydraulic fluid but maybe it does use engine oil. You also said you lost engine oil when you have never lost engine oil before the clutch change. I could be wrong but I don't believe the actual engine oil feeds your slave cylinder.

My other question is that if your slave cylinder was empty you would not be able to engage your clutch. Now I'm not trying to cause trouble or make a problem but I would certainly think if your slave cylinder went bad and you lost all of your fluid they would have seen that when they changed your clutch - you know when you haven't been underneath your truck for however long.

Yet immediately after they change your clutch you see oil leaking and now they're telling you if I understand you correctly it is your slave cylinder which like I said if that was empty you would not be able to put your truck in gear or pull out.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what's happening but something doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Sounds like they don't want to pull that tranny and do the rear main seal correctly.
