How long so I need to learn manual before I accept a job? Don't want to just try for one day and say I'm ready

    6 speed.

    I have no clue whatsoever

A six is no different than a car, aside from double clutching. And you may not even need to depending on the truck...

Whats the right thing to do? Tell the truck owner I need a few days with him and then another few on my own

Don't really want to be practising myself....don't want to hurt anyone

OK he said mentioned it is mainly highway driving....so I'd have a easier time learning

Not sure if that makes any sense if I don't know anything

Well, that makes it easier on you, but it will take longer to master. If you can drive a truck to begin with, tell him you want to focus on up and down shifting. And gear recovery.
