You did this with teacher in front seat how come he didn't stop ya
Truckergirl0720 Thanks this. -
Ha. He never offered any instruction or anything. I was just glad no citation was given. I never new about the 2 preventable and I would be gone. No one ever said anything about that. I have driven for 4 months and about 3500 miles without any incidents but they don't care about the good. I am learning. Only the bad things count.....

Anyway, as you have now found out, having your truck make contact with anything other than the loading dock is not good. You are new, and new folks are gonna have a few bumps and bruises. It is one of the ways, (albeit not the best way,) you gain experience. But there isn't a driver out there, that did not have their share of problems starting out. And if anyone claims different, well, you get the picture.
I've been out of the business for so long now, that I don't know what is actually happening today. But I can tell you that if you give up, THEN your trucking days will be behind you.
What you probably need to do is get out there in person and start going to trucking companies in your area. Don't be too particular about the type of trucking, or whether it is local, regional or OTR. Your goal is to get back into a driver's seat and get some more experience.
Telephone and email contacts with recruiters really don't give you as good a chance as you will have if you make personal contact, and probably with smaller outfits right now.
Good luck. -
Keep trying several training companies out there. Highly suggest you and ALL drivers to Request Online your DAC Report (HireRight).com 100% free once a year. Will be mailed within 2 weeks. Make sure to see who and whats being reported on you that other companies will see before hiring. I received mine other day to find out reports several companies reported 100% Lies. Luckily it no longer shows/drops at 7 years no matter what. But if I knew 5 years ago I would have got an attorney as it was 100% lies. They write bad things so you can't keep trucking company hopping for better pay. GL in future.

Old Fart, no I didn't mean that if I knew I would have been more careful. In fact it wasn't a matter of being careful, it was a matter of not realizing I needed to be further out. The lack of instruction of experience. Yes now I know and I will most definitely use all the space I can to make turns. It's just that if I had known I would not have been going all this time thinking I was doing good and then suddenly get slapped out the door. It just makes no sense to me.
Triplesix, I don't know. That was a rough figure. I just mean I drove many miles without incident and that doesn't count. I don't really know how many miles....from gulf coast to Canada and over to northeast to southeast.
The whole time I was at Werner, it seemed I was supposed to know more than I did. Since then I have discovered that the school I attended did not teach what I needed on the job only what I needed to get my CDL. The emphasis was on getting my CDL and then I would be set....lol What a joke. I was so excited when I started driving but it has turned into a nightmare. Now I'm really in trouble it seems...over really nothing. -

There are quite a few smaller companies in your area. You're in bullhauler territory. Don't want to be a bullhauler? No problem. Quite a few reefer outfits there too. Quite a few flatbed companies, hoppers, oilfield...etc. Primarily smaller companies in your area. You are going to have to beat the bushes. There are plenty of bushes around. If you want it to happen, you make it happen. Happy job hunting.Truckergirl0720 Thanks this.
