Any way of learning to do a logbook before going to a company? My school showed us one time as it had nothing to do "in their eyes" with getting a CDL.![]()

Thats right, There job is to teach you what you need to know to get a CDL. When you get hired on with a company it will be the job of your trainer to teach you how to do a log book. You most learn to walk before you run.

Community College training actually provides a more in depth study of the log book.luvtheroad Thanks this. -

Go to the FMCSA website or go to a fuel stop and get the FMCSA pocketbook or buy it online at J.J. Keller . Ordering online could take a few weeks if they are working on a new edition .

Just Remember, School will teach you the theory, but practice comes from a job...

You should go through logbook stuff in orientation. Your trainer will help make sure you know how to do your logbook, and once you go solo, you can always double check things with the logs department. The company should be willing to help make sure you do things right.
