Delivered in Ennis TX got a load from Greenville TX to Shawnee Mission KS (kansas city) for thur delivery at 1100.Then got to drive to Liberty Mo,about 35 miles to our office to sign a new lease. The new lease is a pay increase starting March 1st,for 2cents extra a loaded mile, for a total of 1.00/mile loaded, still 90 cents empty.I figure thats about 2000 dollars a year raise. So I cant really complain.I know not many company's are passing out raise's in this economy.I feel very fortunate. The only people I've heard getting raise's this year are welfare and food stamp people.I did it the old fashioned way, have a job and work for it!

Good thread Pete. One thing that Landshark forgot to figure when comparing L/P pay with company driver pay is that company driver has to pay taxes too. L/P has to both halves of S.S., but you already have W.C. deducted in fixed cost.
    Be safe.

Warranties are fine and dandy provided the OEM backs them up. I have heard and read of many cases where warranty repairs were NOT covered leaving the driver or company no recourse other than to pay the bill themselves.

That being said I have not seen anything mentioned about the down time associated with "warranty work." Does ACT offer a loaner truck while your truck is in the shop or are you SOL until the shop gets around to repairing yours?

One of the big differences between lease ops and company drivers has to do with truck repairs, the final bill, and the down time associated with those repairs.

Well on my other lease trucks I never had any issues with OEM warranty's,but this is the first kenworth i've had so I dont know yet.I assume they are about the same as peterbilt since they're both owned by Paccar.ACT did tell me they would loan a truck with a major repair item that would put me out for a week or two.I think that is as fair as you can get anywhere.

I hope you have this in writing. Otherwise you may find yourself making an additional truck payment on top of the one that is in the shop.

Please verify that ACT does have a clause in the contract stating they will offer a loaner truck (gratis) while your regular lease truck is down. If it is not "free" then please post the amount you will be charged for a loaner.
