Think about it, you are o/o but pay your own healthcare, your truck payment and to fix your truck? Even if you are being paid double, that extra is going into your title of o/o. No thanks, I wish others will think about this.

Kid ... you're not even through training yet. Learn to have an original thought before you go parroting the board group think ... beginning to think your issues with your mentor weren't all on him.

The way I see it, I can have some headaches with a lease company, pay my own insurance etc, and in 4-5 years have a truck that's paid for with 20-30k of value still in it, as a company driver during the same time period all you have to show is a headache and paystubs. I have a payment based on what I run a week, not fixed like a conventional loan, and other bonuses that reward the good drivers which I see myself as, so I don't see the issue except drivers that think o/o is supposed to be alot of one sided freedom that isnt realistic.

You had me until the end ... Don't know who run for, but I have complete control over my time, where and when I run, how I maintain my truck and who does the work on it.

I won't be saying who I run for, but I can say the arrangement works for me, I tried company driving and honestly for it to work, I'd have to slow down literally, they just couldn't or wouldn't keep up, I was always early and sitting waiting on appointments, so for me leasing was the next option and my company will swap the load or give you a drop location to keep you moving, they actually keep up with me and I'm happy that they do, as one FM use to say, miles equal smiles, and I'm happy all the way.

I see how Rooster is doing, I follow his thread, and I believe everything he is showing. He's obviously doing the right things, and working his "rental" very smart.

I have three uncles and a father who have been driving all for 30 years, I may have just started in this business myself, but have been around it all my life.

Understandable ... you were raised not to think, no need to start now.
