I can't seem to be able to see anything past post 50. I don't know if this will post since I can't see any additional posts considering it shows there are more posts on page 6.

OK. Once I made the above post I could see it. When I tried to see posts on page six, it went to page 5 and would not allow me to see anything in between. I have never had that happen before. I still cannot see posts 51 through 60.

With out going back and reading all the way thru, did anyone mention that you need to be willing to extend credit to shippers and brokers? Maybe $10,000 to $20,000+ or be willing to give a cut to get it faster.

i havent given shippers or brokers or receivers a dime in credit, except for the week or two it takes to get paid -
FLATBED, Cetane+, mp4694330 and 1 other person Thank this.

Along the same line, just leased with a local carrier and what they offer is .94 a mile flat rate (regardless of what the load pays) plus .46 FSC. All expenses (Fuel, Insurance, plates, toll etc. ) are paid by the O/O. Even on a two stop, they pay only the total mile and not 2 loads. is this a standard for most carriers for owners who don't have their Authority? What is the best way to find a list of Carriers who pay better?

That is a big ripoff. Most carriers that pay a $1a mile plus 40-50 cents surcharge a mile also pay for all permits, plates, tolls. Unbelievable that they run guys for so cheap then make them also cover expenses. No wonder it is so difficult to get rates when these tight fisted companies can pay contractors peanuts then undercut everyone else because it's all profit and they have no skin in the game. Percentage pay is the only way to go but there are scammers and cheats paying on percentage too. Trucking is such a corrupt industry full of liars and cheats.
Cetane+, Malta, double yellow and 2 others Thank this. -
Thanks Rollin Coal for your response. We did one run last week in the snow to Ohio, a load none of their vet drivers would touch. I spoke today with the business manager and when I asked him about what the "loads pay by the mile" he said "I don't understand what you mean by that" as if per mile is a non existing concept (pretending to be confused by my "ridiculous" question). Even though they claim that we run with their Insurance, we are paying it in the weekly expense settlement.
Trying to get advice from the forum members on how to find better paying carriers (who charge percentage ??) or otherwise get MC# & Authority and use brokers or book from the loadboards.
~Are there any decent companies that play fair?
~Are carriers not required to disclose to the O/o what the load paid or is paying per mileage or per flat fee if that is how it was paid by the shipper? -
What are you pulling? Van, flat, reefer or tanker etc..... Also search "companies who pay %" then you'll have a wealth of info on here
Malta Thanks this.
