I am abt to take a step into leasing :O ... but am stuck between the two JCT or KLLM. Who's the better company? I just want to know abt the companies not that I'm making a mistake with leasing extra just which would you prefer and why? I like JCT but I know they don't pay for a four day orientation and u don't pick a 2014 unless ur lucky or been a driver with them now. I don't know much like that towards kllm. Is all KLLMs trucks gold? And what do you get to choose between? What are their main running areas? How do they feel abt turning down a load I've heard JCT doesn't appreciate u turning down a load... I also know they're Main running states are FL TX and CA which I love TX and FL. Pay seems to be better at KLLM but do they have as good of a Rep as JCT? Obviously this being lease there will be bad things said either way. But as a KLLM driver vs a JCT driver what are you making a week? Are you able to pay your truck extra and still AT LEAST make company driver pay?

Had a friend lease with JCT and another with KLLM. From putting 2 and 2 together from what I've heard, JCT would more than likely be your better bet.

What kind of trucking do you want to do, JCT is 100% refridgerated, KLLM not. I would choose JCT if given the choice of only these two. I haven't heard much about KLLMs lease program and think it may be more a driver recruitment push. At KLLM you will also be up against a lot of company drivers while at JCT you won't.

I am looking into a lease myself. I have done it before and made good money. It was a good lease plan though. I would have to say that any company that charges you interest on your lease payment is a big no no, but I know a lot of guys will argue that as long as they are putting money in their pocket and they are happy that all is well. Also a refrigerated company, for me, is a big 'ol NO. Too much sitting without pay in the reefer field for me. To each their own though.

I am currently trying to find out if KLLM's fuel surcharge back to the driver is fixed or variable with the cost of fuel as it should be. From my experience, you should accept nothing less than a 100% fuel surcharge or you may find yourself in a bad situation.

I have also looked at CRST/Malone. Now they have some good pay and you pick your own loads, but hey have ALOT of "fees" that the driver pays, where at other companies the company pays for it. So that is something to look at as well.

JCT is a lease to own company. The "balloon" payment at the end is a buck. We must be talking about something different because I don't know of ANY company that will give you the keys to a brand new truck with no money down, and not charge interest. My payment is $120/week plus $.18/mile for a 2012 Cascadia. A 2014 Cascadia Evolution is $120/week plus $.21/mile. That includes a ThermoKing APU! The interest rate is 10% with no credit check.

Yes, sitting around sux. I did it in a dry van too. I sit around so much now that I only average 3,000 miles per week. . . On elogs!

JCT's fuel surcharge varies according to the national average fuel price. This week the average is (according to JCT anyway) $3.903/gallon. My FSC is $.44/mile on all miles, loaded or empty.

Finally, aren't you in Florida? I always had trouble getting loads out of there with a dry van. On my last trip to Florida in July I took a load of cheese from Lemoore, CA to Dover. Next day I picked up orange juice in Dunedin going to Phoenix.

I would love to compare leases with KLLM or anybody else! JCT isn't perfect by any stretch, but it works for me.
