unloaded and parked at a Flyin J , I am having a good week so far but this load was a lot of the trouble , 5 hours to get loaded ,hazmat ,Tarp, extra stop added on the last moment , mass chaos and delay at the first stop crane took forever and then the final was kinda slow , had to go inside and talk them out into the recieving area like you would a scared puppy in a corner.( they just wanted to sit inside ). All in all a decent load

I have a couple of questions for you CURRENT drivers for Melton, if I may.
A long story short, I have been able to reduce my "list" of prospective companies to work for down to just two (a maybe three) and Melton has remained as my number 1 choice.
I have about 6 years experience driving TT (dry van, fuel tanker and end dump), but it has been 20+ years since I've driven. Back when I drove there was no CDL requirements so I have been "going through the process" of obtaining my CDL Class A.
I've taken and passed my CDL Class A permit, with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements. I've obtained my TWIC card and Passport.
I am doing a "refresher course" at a local Driving School here and have a tentative drive test date of May 21st or the 23rd.
I know, you're waiting for my question! LOL
I am very interested in the Melton company, so what would be my chances of going to work for them with the above scenario of lack of current experience and no flatbed experience?
Are you able to get the miles (granted it goes up and down with all the factors playing in, etc) to provide a satisfactory life style for you (and your loved ones)?
I live in Northern Vermont so would that be a hindrance to getting hired and/or getting miles?
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it.
God bless to you and yours.
Be safe out there. -
I think they require the school to be a 160 hour course, since your experience is so long ago.
Vermont is out of our hiring area, but it says "Restricted", not "He|l no", so it would just require approval from management. I'll PM you with some things...Bigdubber Thanks this. -
had another 3k week but I am dreading getting up at 2 am to make my dallas unload by 7 lol !!!, I think this gauruntess me for a 10 pm pickup and you know where.

You betcha!
I take that back. you start at 2 a.m. you will almost be out of hours so they will give you a load picking up at 2 or 4 p.m. only time you sit until late at night is when you have all day to work -

I was dropping this Firebrick off at Midloathian and saw this Slagpot when I came around this corner , you could feel the heat easily from my truck cab where I took this picture. This is where the one ring was formed Froto is still looking for it.
