Simple math. 1 gallon weighs approx 8 pounds. you get 6-7 miles per gallon, and you need to lose 60 pounds. 60 pounds = approx 8 gallons. After you run 60 miles you should be under gross. If not, just throw a couple chains out the window. :p

Fricken Fed ex guys think they can give advice, throw your wood first bulkhead s and v board, then tarp pieces for padding.then coil rack timbers. I dropped 480lbs. In Shreveport once when melton wouldn't let me take a 49,200 lb. Load back to the shipper.then I didn't hit one open scale the whole trip so it was a waste of time.

Answer this...why would they have to ask how many hours the driver has when they're on elogs?..this again shows the total incompetence of Melton...

my dm told me to throw my snowchains , safety was like .... no , I have been scaling empty about 31400 lately so no problems on gross in a long time ,
they called me today at 11 am and said my 10 pm load was ready so I picked it up and bolted. Worked out way better than the way it was preplanned to me .

I'm wondering why it broke up your two lines as two individual quotes. Interesting.

@azcannon - so are you still happy to be with Melton? Do you think you made the proper decision in this company? Im just wondering because I've been wanting to go into flatbedding for a few years but just can't seem to pull the trigger. I'm in between maverick or melton. I live closer to maverick but to be honest I hate a freightliner lol.
