Sorry Chuck did not mean to make you mad, considering this was my first post after being confused by so many trainer's post. I am trying to make my training easier and also realize that I am a visitor on my trainer's truck. That was the only reason I was asking. I apologize if I missed any of your posts earlier in other threads. Thank you to all the help to everyone.
Leaving on the 17th for training questions

Naw, I dont mind the questions. It wasnt ment to come off as an angry response.
There is plenty of opportunity to do laundry. Worst case is you might have to double up on some clothes for a day or two. Hence the extra socks and underwear.
Its a hygine issue, so if regardless how much clothes your trainer has, you need to let him know a day or two out that laundry is in order. If he has a problem with you doing laundry once a wee (or close to), then Prime is probably gonna have a problem with him.
While a student you'll be stopped for at least 10 hours a day, so all you need to do is use the laundry facilities as they are available where you stop.Bigdubber Thanks this. -
Ah okay sounds great, thanks for the updated information. I have changed my bag to only about 7 days now as all of them are new jeans and nice polo shirts that I can wear multiple times. Thank you again.

Like Chuck says 1 weeks worth of clothing will do you. You do your laundry during your 10. My last student actually had 3 suitcases, one of which was a huge bag. He also stood over 6 feet tall. He did not bring any sheets either lol. Needless to say he slept with it all in his bunk, except what he could cram in the storage cabinet. I asked him if his recruiter did not tell him to only bring 1 weeks worth of clothes, he said they told him but he thought different. Sucked to be him.

lol Yeah my recruiter told me two weeks plus cold weather gear. So that's why I was making sure before I packed the final pack. I only have one bag with a weeks worth of clothes and one backpack with my class room stuff and stuff for hygiene. Thanks for your information as well. Safe travels.

I know everyone has their own opinion on how much to bring. I rarely did 34's, my FM didn't believe in them, Yes, you stop for 10 hours a day and you want to relax and also sleep. so, a little math, 10 hours minus, 2 hours for laundry, minus 1 hour for food minus a little wind down and you end up with less than 6 hours sleep. If you get less than 6 hours sleep as my student, you don't drive the next day. You and your trainer/ instructor can plan down time during your trips for laundry etc, but two weeks worth is NOT a burden, it means you have a jerk trainer that won't give up any space for you. I encouraged mine to bring that amount and their laptop, then we went to walmart, got them some banker boxes and took them grocery shopping, Oh, I also gave them space in my fridge. they can eat on my truck and save a ton of money also, I have a coffee pot, microwave, crockpot, electric frying pan. My students were treated well, When they were in their bunk, there was an entire right seat that could hold the extra stuff, Wish you the best partner, Hope you get a good caring instructor/trainer.
Bigdubber, cw37650, kerosene jockey and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah, cuz no one has ever stayed longer than 10:01 in a truck stop for a break.
By your calculation he'd never get to do laundry because you don't do 34s and he has to get 6 hours of sleep. 2 weeks of clothes can be twice as much laundry. Some of these truck stops have two washers and two dryers. Lets not forget the competition from other drivers to use the machines, irregardless of the competition between you and your student with each of you having TWO weeks of clothes to wash.
i appreciate you implying we are "jerks" for suggesting a weeks worth of clothes because of space issues.
I have about 10 days for all seasons. So if its winter then there are 3-4 sets that don't get used, and in summer there are 3-4 sets of clothes that don't get used. Laundry every week.
I guess its fair turn that I should imply or simply infer from your statements you have a filthy truck. Twice as many clothes is twice as many dirty clothes just fermenting in a dirty laundry bag. Your truck must smell wonderful with two weeks of dirty clothes (you and you trainee) after a week with another week to go to accumulate another 2 weeks before you do laundry.kerosene jockey Thanks this. -
Thank you Easy Steamer, I am leaving in a couple hours for the bus ride. I appreciate your input. Hope to meet all of you in coming weeks. Safe Travels to all.

actually chuck, my truck stays very clean and doesn't smell because I keep it clean. Not gonna argue with you, you sound like U2 reincarnated
