As used in 40 CFR 383, the disqualifying offense of leaving the scene of an accident involving a CMV is all-inclusive and covers the entire range of situations where the driver of the CMV is required by state law to stop after an accident and either give information to the other party, render aid, or attempt to locate and notify the operator or owner of other vehicles involved in the accident

you have basically demonstrated that you are not a good risk and will cause huge amounts of claims.
what if, and i mean, "what if" you have another accident, and drive away, but this time "death resulting" or "injuries resulting"................can you imagine the tens of millions of dollars that would cost.......?? i can.....
you have shown that you do not "owe up to" your responsibilities/actions, and it simply doesn't matter how long ago this all took place.............
as i say to some others here that ask about jobs with "all sorts" of problems.................. try finding a job flipping hamburgers............. -
I have to agree with ProDriver on this. I've drvien for over 26 years even now and I run the safety department here and I wouldn't hire anyone that has a leaving the scene on their record under any circumstances for the reasons that Pro stated. I'd say forget trucking as we do not need any more people like you or the driver that ran through the man's yard. The trucking industry as a whole has enough problems without forgiving a lack of moral and professional responsibility which is what you reveled when you left as did the one that drove through the man's yard. In reference to that incident the driver wasn't a professional because he was in a strange area and should have been traveling below the speed limit. What if your child had been in the yard playing and that had occurred? I doubt that you'd have any sympathy for that driver in that instance.

You are right, Nightwind and Prodriver... and I appreciate you taking the time to make me rethink my stance. Regardless of the degree of the incident, he violated a law that had potentially serious ramifications. The fact that he had luck and/or skill on his side should not be a factor. Someone else earlier also mentioned that he knew the rules coming into the game.
And as far as personal responsibility is concerned, he clearly did not demonstrate that. But I do -- I never allowed my children to play in the front yard. We've had too many vehicular "visitors" there. Even when checking the mail, we are very cognizant of the traffic coming around the curve.
I understand much better now. Thank you. :smt023 -
wow..............at least two people here have "admitted" to liking my response, thank you nightwind and ducks.........
i'm so flabergasted by this "support" of what i have said, that i am beside my self...........
thanks for having the "you know what's"...........between your legs...........
geesh.............
although, neither of you said anything about him going and fliping hamburgers..............:smt044
i say it like it needs to be said, i fear no bashing from the mods/admins, or the rest of you here on these boards.
why "sugar coat" a response to such person who did wrong and wants it all to go away because he's "ready" now...........
i "think" he came here for absolution from us..............
but from me..............he got the truth.................. -
make that three pro, i don't think anyone should run from their problems . just stand there like a man (or woman) and face them. get it over with .
OMG i can't believe i said that -
I can't believe you didn't ask them to be your friends.
Or is it that just the guys that don't agree with you that you want as your friends? -
smt082) to ask them to be my friends..........
you suppose its too late to ask them now.......
hey, you guys wannabe my friends............................??
agree/disagree..............it don't matter, cuz i ain't never got enough friends.......:smt082 :smt082 :smt082 ...!!! -
Sure I can always use another one!
Oh yea I wouldn't want him flipping burgers either. Lack of responsibility in driving reaches to cooking. He might drop the Burger, wipe it on his apron, spit on it and then send it out -
I respect your opinion prodriver and nightwind and now I'm going to give you mine. I believe I deserve another chance because while you may think I exhibit no morality or professionalism, I didn't leave the scene of an accident where anyone was hurt, and I only backed into the car going approximately 4 mph. Also, I would like to comment that since the accident I resolved to be a better driver and more honest person, and now I don't ever speed or break any laws if I can help it. I don't know you personally so it would be hard to pass judgment, but I'm curious to know whether you ever speed or cheat on logs or skip inspections, because those were all things that I did as a professional. Thank you.
