    Hey All,

    First post here.

After careful consideration, I left England. This company is simply unbearable even for 9 months.

Does anyone know if there is a way out of their $3000 contract from Eagle Atlantic Financial?

    Thanks

Other than making some kind of payment arrangement ?

You know there isn't much they can do anyway.
I guess it'll go on your credit if you don't pay....
They might threaten to sue you..but prolly not worth it for them.

If you had come here first...you might not have went to CRE.

You now have 9 mos. OTR experience so you're good to go for a decent company.

    I like Balakov advice.

I could be all wet but...

No business survives by letting things like this pass without the kind of resolution they desire.
Letting one person off without paying is a slippery slope that once the word gets out could really snowball. Holding a debt like this over a workers head my be just the incentive they need for new driver retention. Also you have to remember to them it's $3000...everybody wants the money.
For you it could be a negative that impacts both your credit and hiring potential. It could be seen as you being a bad egg or a disgruntled type; doesn't have to be true it just has to be a perception.
Ask them how you can work out a payment program and let any potential employer know that you are doing this with the agreement of CRE; makes you look trust worthy and responsible.

    This too shall pass

I have to disagree. First, don't say anything to a potential employer about any financial arrangement with anyone. They have no way of knowing, they can't ask about it by law, and unless they specifically ask about a loan default with England, don't mention it, its none of thier business. You have a loan, and you owe that. If you choose not to pay, it will go against your credit. You will get hundreds of harrassing phone calls and eventually they will sell your contract to a collection agency, at that point you technically do not owe them anything, because the collection agency paid for your contract. Now you owe the collection agancy and they may or may not take you to court to get it. Usually it is more trouble than it is worth, so they just ruin your credit. After seven years that has to come off your credit, so if you are willing to gamble that they won't take you to court and if you can live with the mark against your credit for 7 years then don't pay...however...you agreed to the loan to begin a career in trucking. As bad as CR England may be, they delivered on thier end and you got the training and 9 months experience. Paying your debt is just the right thing to do. My opinion only.

You should not be looking for a way out of your obligation as much as you should be trying to find other employment.
Both so you can survive, and so you can pay the debt that you agreed to.

Just because England didn't work out for you doesn't mean that you can simply blow off the training costs that got you into this industry.

If you are still within you time commitment you could take a leave of absence. A friend of mine did and never went back. Lol. However, he was with "Wiener" (Werner) and they never came back after him. Just some food for thought I guess.

Training costs? With the tax cuts and handouts they get from the gooberment for hiring him it didn't cost them a dime, specially when he was teaming for minimum wage early into his training. Then I guess you can call 13 cpm an "upgrade".

Although you are right, their unethical practices don't liberate this guy from fault. He signed the paperwork he has to pay.

A contract is a contract. When you hired on with CR I'm sure they presented you with a paper that stated exactly what happens if you don't fulfill your obligations, and you signed it. Wither or not you read it I dunno. Get a job that pays actual money now and pay up what you owe.
