Since it seems it was a one and done let me give some worthless advise.

If you feel that Prime has not lived up to its part of the bargain in teaching you to drive safely then Prime has broken the contract with you. Put that in writing and submit it to the company. Make sure you point out that the safety of the general public as well as your own safety and that of your cargo was being put in jeopardy by the failure of your trainer to actually train you. You therefore must act to protect the public by seeking employment elsewhere. Make sure you have send the notice by certified mail.

Paying prime for school is a given.

explain why you obviously have no idea what you're talking about? Nevermind, I'm wrong and you're right. I'll drop off.
To the OP, you'll be fine. You aren't the first, nor will be the last who bailed out because he wasn't being trained. As a small sliver of advice, don't sign for any registered mail for the next year or so.

Who signed the agreement? I'm sorry, I forgot we live in the new America, a country of man children that dont pay their bills or take their responsibilities seriously.

Who cares? These trucking companies screw drivers left and right every single second of the day without the slightest sliver of guilt or remorse. They'll deduct the cost of his training from their taxes anyways. Remember every mega is a constant revolving door and it's just their cost of doing business. OP, look for a small outfit as they won't give a crap about where you got your CDL from.

If you think a non compete clause in any entry level job is acceptable, we'll have to agree to disagree.

Not only are these company sponsored training crazy expensive but now you'll be bullied to stay with xyz company because of a non compete clause?

If the company was so phenomenal why would it need to have its own CDL Mill to fill the seats. On top of it being so great that they make you sign a non compete clause.

Non compete clauses were created so someone couldn't go to your competition and tell them your trade secrets, not to force you into a flat top coffin sleeper in the Northeast for a month at a time.

IMO you're comparing a time long ago where you were more then a piece of meat to the company you worked for. Now, we're all someone who can pass a physical and a wizz quiz. Nothing more.
