Shouldn’t tell someone who knows what a automated standard transmission is that he’s wrong if you don’t realize a so called auto still has a clutch like a manual..

I've been in and around trucks for over 60 years and I have never seen one with an emergency brake. So I guess I'm not qualified to answer the question.

If you didn't idle last night, then all that happens is that your truck won't crank. You'll get power, and all the dash lights will come on, but you'll have to put it in neutral first. Tighten up.

I don’t know how your IH works, but, Volvo and PACCAR automatically disengage the transmission, when you set the brakes. I wouldn’t worry about it. If there were a problem, the truck would’ve alerted you to it.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

    What I said.....
I DO remember a driver when I was at JB Hunt, who tried to reduce his 'idle time' (we got monthly bonuses based on keeping the idle time low..) by wedging a broom handle onto his clutch pedal while sleeping. If I remember, the throwout bearing failed about 1 a.m.........
