I don't think thats disqualifying. The list showing disqualifying would be Drinking and manslaughter via CMV that camaro was not it.

I would not worry about it, its many a time felons get going in this industry, in my school decades ago we had a number of hard cases getting their class A's and starting new lives.

And you will find that if you are not under any kind of ongoing punishment, probation etc at el, you are free as a bird to run in a big rig. Just need to go through all of the things associated with getting the CDL.

Reo is right, Chinatown is one of the best in this site for hunting jobs. Obviously you put the bad times and so on to bed a long time ago it should not be any problem getting on the road today.

Generally anything older than 10 years wont show up on the license. So if your 51, stop worrying abhout what you did when you were 25. If you changed your habits so it wont happen again, all the better. All we can do is get on with our lives and try to be a better person.

It is unfortunate that had happened, but, it is in the past. Furthermore, it was so long ago that I am sure you are fine.

Yes, go for it. It's been a long time ago. It' will show up on background checks, but won't stop you from a trucking job. A college cdl program is a good plan.

For the record, there are Truckers on the road today that has been convicted of murder and rape. There is this myth that if you are not a choir boy you can't drive a truck. This is wrong. Yes, there are some convictions that will prevent a driver from getting haz-mat or a TWIC card, but you can drive without these. Something that old I doubt will be a problem. In fact, the only real problem I see for people with felony records is a carrier customer's and who they want hauling their freight or on their property. Trucking is WIDE open for the OP.

You're good to go. You committed a serious infraction and served the time you were sentenced with.

    That was ages ago.
This country allows second, third, even fourth chances.

Go do it, and respect that endorsement with which respect it deserves.
Lives depend upon your professionalism each and every second.
