I used to smoke some weed before I became a school bus driver, and although quitting it wasn’t hard, I’m starting to realize that I probably need to be more particular about what I drink and eat to regulate my stress more productively.

What are some things you find helpful? Any particular kinds of tea, etc?

It also depends on how long and where you want to stay off duty.

Generally, don't abuse your body with undesirable substances such as alcohol or drugs.
Please take the advise of @Chinatown from the previous post.

    Talking to significant other.
    A television program.
    A shower.
    A walk.
OTR it has always been hard for me to wind down. I tend to push hard so mentally I am tired but forcing myself to be alert. Trying to shut that off isn't easy for me. I look forward to peoples answers.

If I had to drive a school bus I'd probably start smoking weed.

    1) Watching a really good sitcom.
    2) I know I'm probably on my own with this one, but.....a really good cup of coffee. It's a "hug in a mug"...for me.

If your driving say 5MPH less then the other traffic they have to go around you VS you going faster and you have always going around them by changing lanes and always looking for for that next slow going car.

You have less interactions and less stress if your going just a little slower then everyone. I always liked driving out west because the speed limit is like 75 my truck would only go 65. So I could just set the cruise control on 65 and roll for hours, relaxing and enjoy the views or the radio because almost nobody was going slower then 65 most were going 70 or 75.
